Alternators*
for Mack, Cummins, Caterpillar or Detroit Diesel (1) engines
Alternators
for Mack, Cummins, Caterpillar or Detroit Diesel engines can
be one of four different types.
The 22SI type is the most popular Delco style we
stock. Our part number is 105-19103
and is a 145amp, 12 volt negatively grounded unit. 22SI
units also come in pad mount configurations to fit Detroit Diesel
Series 60 engines. Both these types of units are replaced with part
number 105-17101P,
rated at 145 amps.
The 21SI type is the older version of the Delco
type 22SI. Our part number for this unit is 105-15101
and is a 130amp, 12 volt negatively grounded unit. Any 22SI
unit can be used in place of 21SI units
The Motorola type 110-555 is a 130amp, 12 volt
negatively grounded unit and is known under the trade name of Load
Handler. Our part number on this unit is 116-15101.
Motorola units are made by Leece-Neville. 110-555P
is the pad mount configuration for this application, and can be
used to fit Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines.
The Leece-Neville types JB and
LC series come in two levels of output. Both are
12V and the 130 amp unit is part number 109-15101
and the 160 amp unit is 109-19101.
Important
note…all of the alternators listed above have the same
mounting configuration. However, because of certain design
restrictions relative to the hardware used by the various engine
makers, only the Delco style units can be positively interchanged
with each other. The Leece-Neville and Motorola units likewise
can be interchanged with each other. It is a fact that in most
cases all can be interchanged, however it is a good idea to
stay with the type unit you are replacing, and never replace
a unit with one putting out less amps. (1) Some
newer Detroit Diesel units have a “pad mount” configuration.
Make sure to compare your current alternator mounting for the
correct fit. For additional information, same day

All
of our electrical units are made new as replacements for the
OE types noted in our website information. We require
no core return on any sale and our warranty is as outlined
in the Policy section of our site.
*The
alternators noted above can appear on highway tractors, construction
vehicles, trash haulers, dump trucks or any other kind of equipment
that is powered by Mack, Cummins, Caterpillar or Detroit Diesel
engines.
